Deafchild International Deafsign

General

  • Deafclub.co.uk The Internet's biggest deaf-related search engine, covering aspects and topics such as deaf jobs, chat rooms, equipment databases and access to the arts.

  • Deafsign provides information, contacts and discussion on issues related to deafness and sign language.  It includes an interactive discussion forum, an email subscription list, a BSL sample section

  • Deaf Sports Promotions (DSP) An independent organisation and a national Deaf sports website for UK and Ireland

  • Early Support Programme includes downloadable materials for families and professionals including detailed protocol for monitoring deaf children's achievements and progress in key areas and a comprehensive information booklet about deafness.  Download pages from Family File in format to type information.

  • Newborn Hearing Screening Programme is a way of screening newborn babies for deafness within the first few hours, or days, of life. It is being introduced in the UK in stages and should be available in all areas by the end of 2005.

Deaf Children and their Families

  • Deaf Child International Website promoting better communication and literacy amongst deaf children across the world.

  • Deafness@birth: A training and information resource for professionals working with deaf babies and their families. The website was developed in response to the introduction in the UK of the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP).  It includes an index for parents.

  • My Baby's Hearing is an American website which includes information on hearing loss, hearing testing (including newborn hearing screening), hearing aids, language and learning, along with helpful information from other parents.
