Jewish people and prayer

Jewish people have special clothes for prayer.  They are worn by Jewish men. Jews pray three or more times everyday.

A tallit is a prayer shawl This is called a tallit.  It is a prayer shawl.  Men and boys wear it to pray.

The Torah has 640 laws.  The shawl has 613 tassels - one for each law.


A tefflin is worn on the arm

 

This is called a tefflin.  Men and boys wear it to pray.  They put one on their arm and one on their head.

They also wear a cap.  It is called a skull cap.


Some Jewish men wear this under their clothes

 

Some Jewish people wear this under their clothes.  It is called a tzitzit.  It has four corners and fringes.
